The most common type is Plastic, or PET (polyethylene terephthalate). This type of plastic is found in soda bottles and other food and beverage containers. To recycle PET plastic, it must be cleaned and melted down into pellets. These pellets can then be used to make new products, such as carpeting or clothing.

Another common type of plastic is HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which is found in milk jugs, detergent bottles, and some food containers. HDPE can be recycled by cleaning and shredding it into small pieces. These pieces can then be used to make new products such as fences, buckets, or toys.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is another common type of plastic that is used in pipes and siding. PVC can be recycled by crushing it into powder and then reforming it into new products.

LDPE (low-density polyethylene) is found in grocery bags, shrink wrap, and some food packaging. LDPE can be recycled by breaking it down into small pellets that can be used to make new products such as garbage bags or compost bins.

PP (polypropylene) is found in yogurt containers, ketchup bottles, and some medical packaging. PP can be recycled by melting it down and reforming it into new products.
