Formalin-Fixed, Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) Tissues

Fixed Paraffin Formalin (FFPE) is a method of preserving tissue samples that are widely used in various studies. This helps maintain cellular details and the morphology of the tissue sample.

All tissue samples embedded in paraffin and formalin (FFPE) were collected by a certified medical pathologist under IRB approval. The tissue is repaired in 20% neutral buffered formalin (NBF) within 40 to 70 minutes after the operation is removed.

The tissue is repaired for 18 to 24 hours at room temperature and then implanted in IHC grade paraffin. The standard sample size is 1 x 1 x 0.6 cm but may vary depending on the nature of the condition or the type of tissue. Fixatives and mounting media can be customized upon request.

FFPE fabrics are stored at room temperature. Standard size FFPE tissue can produce sections measuring at least 500 x 4-5 µm.

FFPE tissue samples were collected using a strict Standard Operating Procedure. Quality control (H&E staining) was performed on 100% of the FFPE tissue samples collected.

Unless otherwise stated (for special events or special collections), all FFPE tumor tissue has a tumor content of at least 60%.

Each FFPE block is accompanied by detailed clinical and pathological information. From incision to storage to delivery, every sample is carefully and precisely processed to ensure that the highest quality samples are delivered to our customers.
